Cyriel Dessers has turned social media attention to himself after he defied all odds to tell his critics about his recent form and improvements.
Desssers said he is delighted for making his Feyeenord debut last weekend, after spending a couple of years in the Eredivise with Utretch and Heracles.
Dessers’ move to KRC Genk in the Jupiler Pro League was a step backwards after he failed to establish himself in the first team.
Speaking after his Feyeenord debut, the Nigerian Belgium-born striker admitted that, he is now a different player, and has improved.
The striker expressed his willingness to repay the favor being handed to him by the Dutch club.
“I’m a different player from a few years ago,” he told Voetbal International.
“When people talk about my time at Utrecht or Heracles, I don’t care. I’ve become a much better footballer and can’t wait to show that to everyone.”
